Nunasi is a 100% Inuit-owned development corporation with its Headquarters in Iqaluit, Nunavut. It is committed to investing and growing businesses that provide responsible returns to its shareholders.
The shareholders for Nunasi represent the Inuit of all three regions in Nunavut – Qikiqtani Inuit Association, Kivalliq Inuit Association, Kitikmeot Corporation.
This ownership structure ensures Nunasi’s investment strategies are aligned with the needs of each region and avoids duplication of business activity with the Regional Development Corporations.

Our History
Nunasi Corporation announces appointment of new President and CEO.
Corporate governance is reformed to include the Presidents and Chairpersons of the Regional Development Corporations and the Presidents of the Regional Inuit Associations.
Nunavut officially became a Canadian territory.
Nunavut Land Claims Agreement was finally signed in May 1993 in Iqaluit.
Representatives from the Regional Inuit Association were assigned as Board Member on Nunasi Board of Directors.
Re-established relationships with Regional Inuit Associations to work together to benefit all shareholders.
Nunasi and Inuvialuit Development Corporation purchased Northern Transportation Company Limited. Beginning for future growth of Nunasi Corporation.
First contract created through Nunasi was with Colomac Mine, former goldmine near Yellowknife.
Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami (ITK) created Inuit Development Corporation, now Nunasi Corporation. Created to support Inuit to take prominence in Canadian Business.
